2021 Neptune Wrestling
Another team with just a handful of seniors, the 2021 Scarlet Fliers are relatively youthful group.
They do have some good experience returning throughout the lineup to help break the newcomers in around, starting up top with senior heavyweight Isaias Thomas Palafox. Palafox is a 4-year starter for Neptune, and is coming off a big 2020 that saw him rack up 27 wins on his way to a 2nd place finish at Districts. He gives the Fliers a hammer up top, and should be one of the top heavies in the Shore Conference this season. Also returning in the upperweights is returning starter Elijah Neville, while a trio of sophomores in Jonathan Marucca, Blaise Motler, and Laens Bastien will look to build off the experience gained from seeing varsity action in the upperweights as freshmen last season.
Three starters return in the middle of the lineup with seniors Isaiah Leeks and Thomas Lowe, and junior Nate Levie. Levie, who led the Fliers in wins last season with 30, was a District Medalist in 2019.
Down low, Neptune has Emanuel Jackson, Logan Browning, and Devin Johnson returning, while several new young faces look to break into the lineup.
Neptune has a few wrestlers here capable of putting together big seasons with strong postseason runs. From a team standpoint, there are a lot of young guys here, so the team will be focused on being competitive in the division and improving with each outing.
