2/28: Staples Falls One Win Shy Of Region Medal
Junior Dan Staples dropped a tough 3-2 decision to Jackson Memorial's Devin Biscaha in the wrestleback semifinal round on Saturday at the Region 6 Tournament. The loss left Staples just one victory shy of a medal at the tournament and two away from a trip to Boardwalk Halll for the NJSIAA State Championships.
Staples had dropped into the wrestleback bracket after losing his emifinals match earlier in the day to top-seeeded, and eventual champion, Steve Santos of Brick Memorial.
For the season, Staples finished up with a 35-5 record.

2/27: Staples Advances Into Region Semis
Dan Staples was dominant on the mat picking up an 11-2 major decision victory over Raritan's Ryan Lynch at Friday night's quarterfinal round of the Region 6 Wrestling Tournament. With the win, Staples moves into Saturday's semifinal round against top-seeded Steve Santos of Brick Memorial.

Juniors Dan Staples and Clayton Pierce had strong showing at this year's District 23 Tournament with both wrestlers placing in their weight classes to earn bids into the Region 6 Wrestling Tournament.
Staples, who placed 2nd at 152 pounds, will face Toms River North's Mike Barone on Tuesday night's opening round at the Ritacco. Pierce will be in action against Toms River East's Vince Prozzo.
