There's a pretty even split to this year's Neptune lineup, with a lot of youth down low, and a lot of seniors up top.
The strength of the lineup looks like it could be the run from 132-170, where the Fliers have the bulk of their experience back. Felipe Garcia, a 21-bout winner last season, Robbie Roberson, and David Kusinow provide the veteran leadership. Also back from last year's team are junior German Ponce, and sophomores Thomas Lowe and Isaiah Leeks. This group also gets a nice boost with the addition of another sophomore, Daniel Brewton, who won 19 matches and finished 3rd in District 24 while wrestling at RBC last season.
The upperweights are led by senior heavyweight Chris DeSopo, who placed 3rd at Districts in 2017. Isaias Thomas-Palafox got valuable experience for the Fliers last year, wrestling up at 285 as a freshman. He'll be looking to take it to the next level down at 220 this season.
Down low, the Fliers will turn to members of their freshmen class to man the lowerweights. Among those frosh expected to crack the lineup are Emmanuele Jackson, Danny Perez, Edgar Toreraba, and Nathaniel Levy.
There's a pretty even mix here of underclassmen and seniors. The team will look towards their experience in the middle and the seniors up top to lead the way early on, as the youngsters break into the lineup down low. The move out of A-North into B-North eases the divisional schedule a hair, but there are still a lot of tough tests on the slate. The team will be relying on the hard work they are putting in in the room to pay off, as they look to remain competitive with the powers on their schedule, and take aim at finishing above the .500 mark.
